## Get started

Join KlassApp, then finish school setup with the Wizard or with Toshi, KlassApp's assistant.

### If you have an invite

Open the email. The button is **Set up your school**.

The page title is **Set up** and your school name. The email address is already filled in and cannot be changed.

Fill in **Your full name**, **Phone (WhatsApp)**, **Password**, and **Confirm password**. The password needs at least 8 characters.

Choose Create school account.

The next page asks **How would you like to set up** your school.

Choose Set up step by step for the Wizard, or Set up by chatting with Toshi for guided setup.

Both paths cover the same steps. You can switch later from the dashboard.

The link works once. If it has expired or was already used, the page says so. Ask for a new invite.

Read [Onboarding paths](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/admins/onboarding/README.md) for the steps.

### If the sign-up page is open

Open [klassapp.xyz](https://klassapp.xyz) and go to register. The heading is **Create your KlassApp account**.

Enter **Your Full Name**, **Email Address**, and **Phone (WhatsApp)**. Set a password and confirm it. Tick **I agree to Terms and Conditions**.

Choose Create account with password, or Continue with Google. Google here only creates the login. It does not connect Google Drive or Classroom. That connection is [Coming soon](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/admins/google/README.md).

### Confirm your email

The next page is **Check your email**.

Tap **Confirm email** in the message, or type the **6-digit code** and choose Confirm email.

No message? Check spam, then choose Resend.

You then land on the dashboard. A banner says **Finish school setup**. Choose **Set up manually** for the Wizard. **Set up with Toshi** shows only when guided setup is on for your school.

Schools that sign up this way do not see the invite choice page. Use the banner.

### If sign-up is closed

The register page shows **Request early access**. Send that form. When a platform admin approves it, you get the invite email above.

### What to have ready

School name, country, curriculum, and a class list help. Teachers and students can wait. The Wizard lets you skip those two steps.

### What happens next

[Set up the school](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/admins/onboarding/README.md), then [add students](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/add-students/README.md). Parents use [WhatsApp](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/parents/whatsapp/README.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://klassdocs.gitbook.io/klassapp-documentation/docs-site/help/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
