# Review link requests

· 3 minutes

## Review link requests

Parents ask to link a WhatsApp number to a child. You approve or reject that request.

### Before you start

You need the school admin menu. Open . The page title is **WhatsApp**. The subtitle is "Link requests from parents, numbers linked now, and message delivery."

The same waiting count can show on the **WhatsApp** menu row.

### The Link requests list

The first section is **Link requests**. The line under it is "Parents asking to link a child, by KlassApp number, form, or demo. This list updates by itself."

Each card shows the parent name or phone, a source chip (**KlassApp number**, **Form**, or **Demo**), and the child name with class and stream when the school has them.

If the names do not match one student, the card says **Parent typed** and what they entered.

When the card already has one student, choose Approve.

When several students match, use the **Choose student** list, then Approve.

If the card has no student to pick, choose Choose student. That opens .

Choose Reject. Confirm with Yes, reject, or Cancel to keep the request.

An empty list says **No link requests waiting.**

### Linked now

Under the requests, **Linked now** lists numbers already tied to a student. Choose Unlink, then Yes, unlink, to remove one. **Cancel** leaves it linked.

A demo link shows the time left. A school link stays until you unlink it.

The full parent list is **See linked parents**, which opens the WhatsApp linked-parents page. There the action is also Unlink.

### What happens next

Approving sends the parent a WhatsApp message and links the number. They can then ask for fees, results, attendance, and the report card. See [WhatsApp for parents](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/parents/whatsapp/README.md).

The same parent-link rows also appear in [Approvals](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/admins/approvals/README.md), labelled **Parent link (WhatsApp)**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://klassdocs.gitbook.io/klassapp-documentation/docs-site/help/admins/link-requests.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
