# KlassApp for school admins

## KlassApp for school admins

You run one school: people, classes, money, WhatsApp, and settings.

### Where you land

Sign in at the KlassApp login page. You open the school dashboard.

Until the academic year and classes exist, most pages send you back to finish setup. Follow [Onboarding paths](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/admins/onboarding/README.md).

### Menu

The menu is grouped. Section names are **People**, **Academics**, **Money**, and **School**.

**People**

* **Students** — **All students**, **Admissions**, **Health records**
* **Teachers and staff**
* **Parents**

**Academics**

* **Classes and subjects** — **Classes and streams**, **Subjects**, **Timetable**, **Calendar**
* **Attendance**
* **Exams and reports** — **Exams and marks**, **Release marks**, **Grading**, **Report cards**
* **Library**

**Money**

* **Fees**
* **Unmatched payments**

**School**

* **WhatsApp**
* **Approvals**
* **Transport**
* **Settings** — **School details**, **Academic years and terms**, **Data exports**

**Settings** and **Classes and streams** are yours. A head teacher uses the same menu without those two rows. See [Head teacher](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/head-teachers/README.md).

### Common tasks

* Add a student: , then Add student or Import list. See [Add students](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/add-students/README.md).
* Edit the year and terms: .
* Fees: . **Send reminder** is on that page for a parent who still owes fees.
* Payments that did not match a student: .
* Parent WhatsApp links: . The first section is **Link requests**. Approve, reject, or open **Approvals** when you must pick the student there.
* Other pending requests: . That inbox is staff leave, parent links, lesson plans, and tasks.
* Connections: , then **Integrations**. Google Drive, Classroom, and Sheets are **Coming soon**. When no connection is turned on, the page says **No integrations available yet.**

Marks and report cards have menu entries. The step-by-step guides are still short placeholders: [Enter marks](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/marks/README.md) and [Generate report cards](https://github.com/KlassApp-Foundation/KlassApp/tree/main/help/generate-report-cards/README.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://klassdocs.gitbook.io/klassapp-documentation/docs-site/help/admins/index.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
